About Brave Ground Equine Therapy

At Brave Ground, our mission is to foster discovery, healing, growth, and self-connection through evidence-based, trauma-informed, and ethically grounded therapeutic services. We provide Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy facilitated by licensed mental health professionals who integrate clinical expertise, ethical practice, and the healing potential of meaningful human-animal relationships.

Our therapists draw upon established psychological theories, evidence-based interventions, and relationship-centered approaches to support individuals, families, and groups in navigating trauma, stress, life transitions, emotional challenges, and personal growth. Within the unique context of interactions with horses, clients are offered opportunities to explore thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and patterns of coping in ways that can deepen insight, strengthen resilience, and support lasting change.

Through safe, inclusive, and compassionate spaces, we empower and support our clients in processing trauma, restoring connection, cultivating resilience, and developing a deeper understanding of themselves. We believe healing involves more than reducing symptoms- it  includes reconnecting with forgotten strengths, embracing the full complexity of one's identity, and creating opportunities to exist beyond the roles and responsibilities that often define daily life.

At its heart, we believe healing is often a process of coming home to yourself: rediscovering who you are beneath expectations, survival strategies, and the demands of everyday life. Through the combined presence of skilled clinicians, horses, and nature, we strive to create experiences that foster connection, self-acceptance, and meaningful growth.

Our Vision

Brave Ground envisions a world in which all individuals and families have equitable access to intentional, evidence-based, effective, and ethical therapeutic services that harness the healing potential of horses, nature, and authentic connection.

We strive to create a compassionate and nurturing environment that supports the well-being of everyone involved in our work, including clients, animal partners, caregivers, staff, volunteers, and community members. We believe that healing and growth occur when people and animals are provided with safety, consent, support, rest, connection, and opportunities for authentic engagement.

We envision spaces where individuals can reconnect with aspects of themselves that may have been lost, silenced, or overshadowed by trauma, caregiving, professional demands, life transitions, or years spent meeting the needs of others. We believe people thrive when they are given opportunities to explore who they are not only as parents, caregivers, providers, partners, students, or professionals, but as whole and multifaceted human beings.

We envision communities where people are supported in coming home to themselves-reconnecting with their values, strengths, identities, interests, and inner wisdom while building lives that feel authentic, purpose-driven, empowered, and sustainable.

Our Guiding Belief

At Brave Ground, we believe healing is not about becoming someone new. More often, it is about coming home to yourself. Through authentic relationships, meaningful experiences with horses, connection with nature, and evidence-based therapeutic support, we create opportunities for people to reconnect with the parts of themselves that may have been overshadowed by trauma, stress, caregiving, achievement, loss, or the demands of everyday life. Whether you are seeking healing, growth, self-discovery, or simply space to breathe, we strive to provide an environment where you can explore, belong, and reconnect with who you are.
